Software Freedom Education Initiative holds at UnilagPosted: 14 years ago |
The University of Lagos will celebrate the Software Freedom Day on September 21, 2013. The Software Freedom Day (SFD) is a global celebration and education of why transparent and sustainable technologies are now more important than before. Eko-Konnect Research and Education Initiative, a consortium of Higher education Institutions in Lagos State, is hosting the event. The event, led by the University of Lagos, with the theme: “THE POWER OF OPEN SOURCE” will hold at the Unilag Centre for Information Technology and Systems (CITS) between 10:00am to 4:00 pm. Some key resource personnel who had benefited from the Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) movement will be there to share ideas, knowledge, and skills and enlighten youngsters on how technologies can empower and provide new and exciting challenges. They will also exploit opportunities to secure a career in Information Communication Technology ICT and financial stability while using a free source code and personalizing it.a |
